Dream jobs

April 30, 2011

I have wanted to work outside for a long time.  I am not sure what has left me from really taking the reigns, but I decided to step up and move forward.  Talking with my brother being a woman with a Bachelors should help me considerably.  Hopefully I will be a Park Ranger soon enough, surrounding by something equivalent to this….

Tattoos & meanings

April 21, 2011

Not every tattoo needs a meaning.

I find it obnoxious that people find such necessity in associating a tattoo with an experience, or something of deep meaning.  Sometimes there isn’t one.  Aesthetics is just as valid a reason as any other.  Shit, a laugh is as good as any.

I came across this online and it made me really happy.  I am sure the owner of this looks as it and smiles daily.  Good for them.

Vacations to PA

April 14, 2011

I recently went to Pennsylvania. I forgot my camera for most of the trip, which is a bummer cause it entailed a lot of things in a short period of time I would like to look back at.

We visited the Academy of Natural Sciences, where I got to go around hand in hand with my host (crush, etc.) looking at exhibits and live animals including a very vocal bird and an adorable sleeping hedgehog.

We went to Ringing Rocks, which I didn’t expect to be so cool, but alas hitting rocks with a hammer can be awesome with the right company.  I conquered a couple fears (not to say I won’t have them again in the same circumstances)- I walked onto a fallen tree over a running stream, and jumped over part of a waterfall.  And then watched the boys overturn rocks looking for salamanders, which an excitement that made me think of catching crawdads (crayfish) as a kid.

I will be returning soon and will  have pictures that time around.

Restaurant and rides

April 5, 2011

I constantly plan in order to make sure that I have things coming up to look forward to.  This week I finally get to go to Wood Tavern for dinner, a place I have wanted to eat at for a very long time.

And then of course there is the East Bay Bike Party.

just found this photo online, and it happens to be my 1st EBBP- and I am in the photo with 2 of my brothers

SF Bike Party – robots and cyborgs

April 4, 2011

I am a total East Bayer, but I see the appeal of San Francisco.  I mean how many cities plant inflatable bounce castle in random spots for people to enjoy? Answer, probably not a lot.

The ride met at Civic Center, which is a good congregating spot for hundreds of people and allowed for the evening to start with aforementioned bounce castle and the Civic Center glowing behind us.

I have a new found love for Golden Gate Park- I am sure I enjoy it more in the quiet evenings than during the day.  Plus it really is easily accessible via bike.
